didn't get my sarcasm? Yep. I meant the same. Teachers
here are saturated with what they already know. They
won't care to learn anything new.

,--
| AFAIK its advance for them. If they say that the
| syllabus is tough , we risk losing the we've got
| permission 6 up to 9.. so from 4 its ruled out.. i love
| your enthusiasm, i too have it but we are bound by
| limitations,

I don't understand where the *advanced stuff* came
from. or is this a lazy technique to keep one away from
learning anything new? Everything has A.B.C.D and
eloquence as well. Say if we have mesh networks for a
UG student, let the student be expected to at least
understand what a mesh is. and *if desired*, student
will play and flash routers (assuming you call this
advanced?). okay.. for class 6 - 9 :

6 - OS basics - concepts - applications
7 - Shell - concepts - commands
8 - Editor (Emacs/Vim)
9 - Editor (Emacs/Vim)

say a student learns OS concepts - installation,
configuration, applications for a year. shell commands
- - - file management (parallely shell scripting) for
another year. and let them spend learning Emacs for
another 2-4 years. When they learn Emacs they can also
learn programming. let them learn a programming
language(elisp) as they learn to use the editor.

| we have to work within the range of our traget's
| learning capacity, they are new even to basic
| village. what they need is bread for hunger not velvet
| cake.
`--

how do you measure the *capacity* ? marks? Students
should be given more space to explore every other
possibility rather than narrowing them to certain
specifics. Our goal is not to have teachers to get down
and teach A.B.C.D. I can hope that teachers can at
least learn how to make students learn how to learn
stuffs themselves.

,--
| And most teachers aren't willing to learn too advance
| stuff, they are plain lazy that's why we have a shitty
| UG syllabus. If they find it difficult and report it to
| their corroespondent that what we are giving them is
| avant grade, what would happen
`--

I don't think (+ 21 21) => 42 is too advanced for a 9th
grade. Yes. take it to our teachers, they will ignore
you saying elisp is advanced because they have never
heard of additon symbol and numbers! we have a social
responsibility to make the targets clear that it is not
expected from teachers to teach the syllabus nor the
students ought to expect it from teachers. If not, we
are not making any progress. syllabus is for students,
not for teachers.

| Comment on distro choice
`--

what is the time frame within which you need it to be
available? If it is before June, we can work on custom
one, else I too would suggest debian.
